The Master of our shio during this trip was the Cunard Commodore Christopher Rynd from New Zealand
our first port of call was Newhaven near Edinburgh. Queen Victoria moored in the Firth of Forth and we went ashore by tenders. This photo shows one just docking. The transfer by tender was very rough

Our next port was Invergordon where we visited Dunrobin castle seat of the Countess of Sutherland.
as you can see it was quite misty but the pictures capture a flavour of the gardens

Back at Invergordon we walked around the wall art by local schoolchildren
Until maybe 30 years ago Invergordon was naval port, now it seems a very poor locality
Our next call was in the Orkneys. This is St Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall
we took a coach trip around the rest of the island - called "Mainland"

In Glasgow now, this is the statue to James Watt

onward to Liverpoool where the "stilt walker" greeted us

we decided on a day trip to Chester - neither of us had been there for many years.

we went to Glendalough, an ancient religious site
a very peaceful setting
but very popular with tourists

Our next stop Cobh, near Cork
this is the Lusitania memorial to those who lost their lives when the Lusitania was sunk during WW1
during our visit the town held is annual Lusitania commemoration ceremony
our afternoon vist was to see dsoem of the country side. The is the Charles Fort on Kinsale Harbour
